Before venturing into harvesting, it is essential to determine the right time. The magic mushrooms should be harvested before the mushroom cap opens, or rather, before the veil covering the spores comes off.
Normally, magic mushrooms under optimal conditions should be ready for harvesting in about 5 days after their appearance.
Size and Shape
Magic mushrooms should be harvested when they are small, we should not wait for them to grow too big, as this will cause the veil to come off and the spores to fall, and this will prevent mushrooms from growing back on the bread. How to Harvest Magic Mushrooms with Care
Once you have identified that your magic mushrooms are ready for harvesting, it is important to carry out the process with precision and delicacy.
To harvest magic mushrooms properly, the first thing to do is to disinfect your hands and prepare a container with absorbent paper to place the mushrooms in as you pick them.
We disinfect our hands and put on gloves, be sure to use talc-free gloves.
Harvesting the hallucinogenic mushrooms is easy, with great care and tact we take the base of the mushroom without squeezing too hard, we make a slight twist while we pull them upwards. If you squeeze too hard, the mushrooms will bruise on the sides and may turn a little black, which is quite normal.
This is the correct way to harvest magic mushrooms, we do not recommend cutting or picking them carelessly.
Cooling or Drying
Depending on your plan, you may choose to refrigerate mushrooms for short-term storage or dry them for long-term storage. Be sure to research the appropriate storage method for the species you are growing.
