El alto contenido en silice de la planta, y la presencia en la misma de una saponina tóxima para los hongos llamada “Equisetonina” hacen de este producto un excelente fundicida contra royas, oidios y mildius. Su principal mecanismo de acción está en que favorece la formación de paredes celulares más gruesas que impiden la implantación de patógenos. Se recomienda su uso tanto preventivo como curativo.
